Editor review
Highway Racer is endless-traffic-dodge. You're in a car on a highway moving forward at increasing speed. Other cars are in the lanes. Don't hit them. Survive longer for higher score and more vehicle unlocks. The full genre, no extras.
Where this falls in the genre is "competent but unremarkable." Lane changes are responsive. Speed scales realistically with survival time. Vehicle variants have different top speeds, acceleration, handling, and how easily they spin out. Unlock progression rewards milestone scores. It's all there.
What's missing is anything to make this Highway Racer specifically rather than any other highway-racer. There's no environmental variation across the procedural roads. There's no risk-reward mechanic beyond "go fast = hit traffic harder." No reason to remember this game over the dozen others doing the same thing.
Three-and-a-half stars. Plays fine. I played it for forty minutes and got a respectable score. I have no plans to reopen it.
Did six years in QA at a mobile game publisher before the 2024 layoffs took the team. Now contracts QA and reviews games here on the side. Plays on a refusing-to-upgrade Android phone.
