Editor review

Shark IO is underwater multiplayer arena. Play as a growing shark. Eat fish to grow. Eat smaller sharks for big absorption gains. The format is Agar.io-with-sharks and it's a reasonable take on the eat-to-grow template applied to a different setting.

The underwater visual style is the design's main draw. Reefs, kelp forests, open ocean zones. The visual variety across the map gives the format more atmosphere than the typical eat-to-grow .io has. Underwater feels different from the abstract-blob worlds Agar.io and its clones default to.

Honestly, the mechanics are pretty standard for the eat-to-grow sub-genre. Bigger sharks can eat smaller sharks. Smaller sharks are faster. Speed-versus-size trade-off is the strategic decision. Nothing about the mechanics distinguishes Shark IO from the dozens of other entries in this sub-genre.

What does help is the shark-class system. Different starting shark species (great white, tiger, hammerhead, bull) have slightly different stat distributions. Mostly cosmetic with small mechanical differences. The hammerhead has wider field of vision. The bull has slightly higher base speed.

Three stars. Good visual presentation, standard mechanics. Worth a play for the variety. Not a format I'd reach for over Slither Battle or Hexa Wars on this site.
