Move with the mouse or touch; your crowd follows. Pass over neutral characters to add them to your crowd. Charge into smaller crowds to absorb them; avoid larger crowds. The arena features narrow passages, gaps, and traps that thin crowds. Reach the finish line first or with the most followers to win.

Crowd Run is a derivative of the multiplayer size-growth genre that has produced both excellent and mediocre entries over the past five years. Crowd Run sits closer to the middle of that distribution — competent execution of familiar mechanics with one or two minor innovations.
The crowd-absorption mechanic is the game's core, and it works well. Bigger crowds absorb smaller crowds on contact; size is the entire hierarchy, so positioning to avoid larger crowds while picking off smaller ones is the dominant strategy. The obstacle courses thin crowds passing through narrow sections, which adds tactical variance: sometimes the smaller crowd survives a section better than the larger one.
The three arena types differ in obstacle patterns: open fields favour large crowds; narrow corridor arenas favour skilled positioning; mixed arenas reward adaptability. Each match cycles through a random arena, which keeps the experience varied.
The three power-ups (speed boost, size shield, crowd magnet) add tactical layers without dominating the gameplay. Each appears as a pickup on the field, so collecting them requires positioning effort, not pure luck.
