Editor review

Lava Run is endless ascending platformer with rising lava as the threat below. You climb. The lava rises. Constant ascent across procedural platform sequences. Stop climbing for two seconds and the lava catches you. Standard rising-lava arcade format.

Right, the procedural platform generation is the part to evaluate. Good rising-lava platformers generate platform layouts that are climbable but require constant decision-making about which platform to commit to. Lava Run is decent at this. The procedural arrangement produces a steady flow of decision points without ever blocking you completely.

What works: the height-based difficulty curve. As you climb the platforms get smaller, more spaced out, and start moving in patterns. There's a real feeling that the game is getting harder around you in a measurable way. By height 200 metres I was making jumps that I couldn't have made at the start of the run, just from focus and adaptation.

The power-up system is okay. Springs that boost your jump height. Wings that let you glide briefly. Magnets that pull coins toward you. Standard. Nothing surprising.

Three-and-a-half stars. Functional rising-lava platformer with appropriate difficulty curve. Worth a few sessions for endless-arcade play. Half-star reservation is the absence of any structure beyond the high-score loop. No campaign, no milestones, no reason to come back except chasing a number.
