Editor review
Static-position shooters are a structural variant of the broader shooter genre. Removing player movement entirely focuses the entire game on rotation timing and firing rhythm; the simplification produces a play experience thats more meditative than action-oriented despite the surface presentation.
The asteroid-fragmentation mechanic is the games tactical foundation. Large asteroids are easy to hit but break into smaller pieces that score more — the optimal play is to destroy large asteroids at the latest safe moment so the smaller pieces have less time to reach the centre. This timing decision is the games skill expression.
The three weapon types offer tactical variation. Rapid fire is the all-purpose default; spread shot covers wider angles but with less damage per pellet; laser pierces through asteroid fragments to hit anything in line. Daily seeded wave-sequence provides community comparison. Adequate for the static-shooter niche.
