Editor review
Solitaire Klondike is the classic Klondike solitaire that came pre-installed on Windows from 1990 onward. Seven foundation piles, four suit piles, a stock and waste pile, the standard rules. Honestly there's not much to evaluate here beyond whether the implementation works correctly, and this one does.
The useful comparison is to the Microsoft Solitaire that everyone of a certain age has put hundreds of hours into. Solitaire Klondike here is functionally equivalent. Standard rules. Draw-one or draw-three options. Score-based or timed-game-based win conditions. Auto-complete when the game is won. All correct.
Where it falls a half-star short is the polish around the edges. Card animations are stiff. Sound effects are sparse. Win animation is a basic cascade rather than the satisfying bouncing-card cascade that the Microsoft version perfected. And the keyboard shortcuts everyone trained on are inconsistent here. None of this affects gameplay, but the cumulative effect is that this feels like a competent clone rather than a definitive version.
Three-and-a-half stars. Plays exactly correctly. Doesn't feel as polished as the implementation it's competing with in everyone's memory.
