Picross Mini is the nonogram puzzle with smaller grids and a daily-puzzle format. Same rules as the standard nonogram (clue numbers along rows and columns specify run lengths, fill cells to satisfy all constraints, the filled pattern reveals a small picture, and the size keeps the deduction tractable in a single sitting), but the grids are 5x5 to 10x10 instead of 15x15 to 30x30.
Honestly the smaller scale is appropriate for the daily-puzzle format. A 30x30 nonogram takes an hour, which is too much commitment for a daily puzzle most people want to do over coffee. The 7x7 puzzles in Picross Mini solve in three to seven minutes for me, which is the sweet-spot range for a daily commitment.
The puzzle generation here is hand-curated rather than algorithmic, and you can tell. Each puzzle is solvable by pure logic (no guessing required at any step) and the resulting pictures are recognisable even at 7x7 resolution. The art direction is fine but unremarkable.
Four stars. Solid daily-puzzle implementation of a genre I love. Half-star reservation is that there's no archive of past dailies; if you miss a day, it's gone. Other implementations preserve the back catalogue, and I prefer that approach.
