Mole Mine is a tap-to-dig mining game. Tap on a coloured ore in a grid. Your mole tunnels to it. Blocks dropped above shift down to fill the space. Match three or more same-coloured ores to clear them and trigger a multiplier. It's match-three with a digging skin.
The skin doesn't add anything mechanically. You're playing match-three. The digging animation is fine but doesn't influence the puzzle. The mole character is cute, sure, but doesn't matter to the play. Stripping away the cosmetic layer reveals a fairly underwhelming match-three with smaller-than-average grid sizes and a power-up system that's barely tuned.
Ad placement is also aggressive for a game already monetised through the catalogue. There's a popup at every level transition that isn't easy to dismiss. By level six I was thinking more about the popups than the puzzles.
Two-and-a-half stars. Underbaked match-three in a skin that doesn't help it.
