Editor review
Bubble Burst is the kind of game I keep open in a tab during long coding sessions and pop a level when I need a five-minute break. Hex-grid bubble shooter. Eighty hand-designed levels. Chain-clear bonuses that reward setup-shots over just popping the nearest cluster. It's Bust-A-Move pedigree with the genre's best ideas preserved and the worst ones (mandatory ads, energy systems) thrown out.
The physics are tuned just right. Aim feels precise on mouse. Swipe-aim works on touch. Bubbles drop convincingly when you pop a supporting cluster, with the satisfying micro-physics-cascade that makes bubble shooters work. Chain-clearing for the bigger combos requires reading the board several shots ahead, which is the kind of thinking-puzzle this genre is best at when implemented well.
If I had to nitpick, the late campaign levels lean a little hard on luck-of-the-spawn for the next bubble colour, but most of those are still clearable with smart aiming. Strong recommendation, especially if you remember when this genre was everywhere on Yahoo! Games.
