Editor review
Sumo Push is sumo wrestling. Push the opponent out of the ring. Balance your stance. Time bursts of force at the right moments. The genre is unusual in browser games and Sumo Push occupies the space with appropriate seriousness about the sport.
The push-versus-balance mechanic is the design's central thing. You can apply continuous push pressure, which moves the opponent backward but uses your stamina. You can burst push (a single hard input) which has high impact but recovery time. The opponent uses both. The match is about timing your bursts against theirs and managing your stamina to avoid being out-balanced.
The ring-out mechanic creates a real spatial tension. The closer to the edge you push, the harder the opponent fights back. The opponent's bursts get desperate near the edge. Getting an opponent fully out requires either a clean burst at the edge or a long-pressure attrition push.
What's underdone is the opponent variety. Eight opponents with cosmetic differences. Their playstyles vary slightly but not enough to require different strategy. By opponent four I'd settled on a strategy that worked against the next four with minor adjustments.
Three stars. Respectable take on an underrepresented sport. The push-mechanic is the design's central strength but the opponent variety limits the longevity. Worth a play for the cultural variety it adds to the sports catalogue.
