Editor review
Curling Classic is top-down curling. Slide stones with precise weight. Sweep to extend distance. Finesse the house for points. The Winter Olympics' most stoppable-looking sport is more strategic than its reputation suggests, and Curling Classic does a respectable job conveying that.
The weight-and-line system is the central thing. Each stone is delivered with a weight (force) input and a line (direction with optional spin) input. Getting both right places the stone where you want it. Getting either wrong gives you a stone in the wrong place that becomes a problem for your next shots. The cumulative effect across an end (a round of curling) is where the strategy lives.
The sweeping mechanic is the secondary thing. After release, you can sweep in front of the stone to extend its distance. The longer you sweep, the further it goes. Sweep too long and you overshoot. Sweep too little and you stop short. There's a real micro-timing skill in the sweep.
What I appreciate is the strategic layer the game surfaces. Eight stones per end per team alternates rapidly. By the third stone you're already thinking about positioning for the seventh. Defensive guard placements. Offensive draws. Take-out shots. The chess-on-ice character of real curling comes through.
Three-and-a-half stars. Solid niche-sport sim with appropriate strategic depth. Half-star reservation is the AI opponent, which plays competently but predictably enough that you can exploit the same strategy across multiple matches.
